5 out of 5 stars They really work!   April 11, 2008

Saves money with vegetables & extra trips to the grocery store.

I've ordered ExtraLife many times because my produce stays fresher a lot longer. example- Cilantro, which lasts up to a week for me, is now still fresh into it's 3rd week.

I've also found they seem to still be working even after the 3 month recommended limit.

I hate grocery shopping more than dentistry. I do however like my fresh produce and have tried every setting on my refridgerator produce compartments to no great end. This item has definitely extended the shelf life of my produce and is well worth the reasonable cost in testing. I do not use it for fruits but have heard that it works. Dunno. But I am quite happy with the product and would recommend as well as buy again after the recommended 90-day use cycle.

I was skeptical about this product at first but it actually works! It doesn't keep things fresh forever, but definately prolongs shelf life of fruits and vegetables by atleast a week or two which is great. It works alot better than Evert-green bags which actually made fruits and vegetables rot faster in my experience. Go figure

5 out of 5 stars Everyone should own these   April 26, 2009

My wife and I only shop for groceries every other week. We used to have a problem where we would have fresh fruits and vegetables around for a few days or a week, but then we'd go about a week where the only vegetables we'd eat were frozen. Worse yet, we had to plan our produce buying perfectly to avoid wasting a lot of it.

Somehow we came across these and decided they were worth trying, and they work just as advertised. Drop them in your crisper drawer with your fruits and vegetables, and they last at least twice as long. We now have no problem keeping fresh produce around for a couple weeks (and longer). This has the benefit that we can keep more produce around, too, as we don't have to plan in advance how we're going to use it since it will last so much longer.

They recommend replacing them every 3 months, and since they're fairly inexpensive I have no problem sticking to that schedule. They probably last longer than that since I don't notice any loss of efficacy over time, but for a few dollars each, does it matter?

We've been happily using these products for about 2 years now and have gotten many friends and family to use them, too.

The little green disks work great, I've been using them for years. Vegetables that used to last a few days now last two or three weeks. Very easy to use...just pull a sticker off the back of the disk and throw them into the veggie bin in the fridge.
You have to have holes in the bags of food, though, or the disks can't work. If you buy, for instance, salad greens in a bag...just poke some holes in the bag.
